THE SHOBOGENZO PROJECT

The Sho-bo-Genzo (????,-Japanese: Sho-bo-Genzo-, Chinese: Zhenfa-yuancang), literally "The Treasure of the eye of the True Law," is a work of Japanese Zen master Dogen Zenji, written between 1231 and 1253 (year of the death of Dogen). Unlike earlier Zen writings originating from Japan, the Sho-bo-Genzo-is written in Japanese, not Chinese. Other work of Dogen, including Eihei Koroku and Sho-bo-Genzo-Sanbyakusoku are written in Chinese. The Sho-bo-Genzo-Sanbyakusoku (or Shinji Sho-bo-Genzo-) consists of more than three hundred year-kb

By the depth and originality of his thought, Dogen is often considered the greatest philosopher of Japan and one of the most important thinkers in the history of Buddhism, Nagarjuna's equal.

One of the most original aspects of his thought on the design of the report of the game with everything. According to Dogen, one can not grasp the reality of things in a certain form. Thus, the Buddhist truth can only appear in a specific form. Each part of the entire world is all this particular form. One can therefore understand the universe through the presence of a single blade of grass, provided grasp the nature of the blade of grass. The presence of a blade of grass can represent the Buddhist truth. This concept also applies to time. The time also appears that a specific form called yet. The design of successive past / present / future is illusion. Only the present moment is real. Therefore, each moment, as brief as it is, "re-present" time in its entirety without having to wait for other moments. The Buddhist truth of time is the time as it is, this instant, now.

A moment that is every moment, a blade of grass in the presence representing all beings symbolize the Buddhist truth in a much more appropriate than by language. The Buddhist truth is always more or less in conflict with the conceptual expressions that attempt to express it. That is why the various expressions of this truth throughout history are just different expressions of this conflict.

The thought of Dogen Zenji is the most radical form taken by the philosophies of the here and now. Therefore, if the wife, she is in her own way all the philosophies of presence. Especially in Japan, Dogen's work was compared to various Western authors (Saint Augustine, Meister Eckhart, Merleau-Ponty, Sartre, Derrida, Heidegger) The reconciliation between Dogen and Heidegger can understand why the work of the latter attracted a large number of studies in Japan.

Lyrics, poems & quotes Dogen

Go to the Buddha's quest is to go to the search for self.
It is to seek to know and achieve a self-forgetfulness.
Forget oneself is to be flooded with light that is in the universe.
And be flooded by the light of the universe, is to abandon his body and mind.

If you can not find the truth to the place where you are, or are you hoping to find?

I never heard that someone had the results achieved without studying or practicing without achieving.
